Google will announce Thursday that the popular Street View feature in Google Maps will arrive on iPhones and iPads via the mobile web version of the service. The news comes from AllThingsD's Walt Mossberg in his review of the Google Maps app for Android.
Even though Apple removed Google Maps from the iPhone, it's still possible to access get from your web browser. It has most of the same features you were used to using on your iPhone's maps app, including public transit directions and more accurate search. With tomorrow's Street View upgrade, you'll get a nearly complete Google Maps experience on your iPhone.
Google is also said to be working on a standalone Google Maps app for iPhones and iPads, but it likely won't be ready for a few months.
