Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster surveyed people who were buying iPad minis.

His survey sample is small, only 72 people, but it's still interesting to see the results.

The majority of people buying the iPad mini are already iPad owners. And 72% of the people buying it are buying it because the screen is smaller.

Munster believes that over time the iPad mini will become the better selling iPad because it's smaller and more portable, thus making it a better option for people looking for a lightweight, portable computing option.

Here's the full table of the results. (And, here's Munster's explanation for why the survey sample size is so small: "Our total number of surveys for this launch was impacted by the number of non-English speaking customers in-line for the iPad Mini.")
