Facebook has launched a new hashtag feature. Now, when you click a hashtag in Facebook, you will see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about that event or topic.
Other social networks like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest have had the feature for some time now.
Privacy settings are taken into account too. For example, if you share a new post with hashtag for just your Facebook friends, only they will be able to find the post.
Only posts set to "public" will be searchable by everyone.
Facebook is also allowing users to search for specific hashtags You can even click on hashtags that originated from other services, like Instagram.
Facebook says the new feature is the first step toward helping users discover what other people are saying about topics and join in a public conversation.
The feature will roll out over the coming weeks. You'll know you have it when you see hashtags in posts appear as a blue link.
