Kevin Systrom, Instagram's CEO just revealed a new video feature for the popular photo sharing app.
The company wants to do to video what it did for photos. Launching today, Instagram will finally let you record video to share with friends. Videos are limited to 15 seconds.
Instagram is also launching 13 new custom video filters to add to your videos.
Similar to Twitter's Vine, you can stop and go as you record. But unlike Vine, you can remove certain clips if something gets in the way.
The apps interface remains the same. Videos are in your feed along with photos.
When you come upon a video, which is marked by an icon in the top right corner, it plays once and doesn't loop. You can also select a cover photo to represent your video.
The app will be available today on iPhone, Android, and you can view video on the web.
Instagram also revealed a new video feature called, "cinema". The company teamed up with video scientists to fix shaky videos. Cinema drastically improves the way videos look when shot on mobile.
