The gurus at Gasbuddy have sprung into action in the wake of the gas crisis caused by Hurricane Sandy, creating an app to help find gas stations pumping fuel.
"GasBuddy spotters in the region are urged to update the fuel availability information so that motorists looking for gasoline can find it," the site's Patrick DeHaan writes.
"GasBuddy is also working with some gas stations to keep their information updated, but as word gets out about the new tool, use and reporting will likely continue to increase."
Due to the lag time in getting apps approved, the software is currently only web-based.
It won't cut the line you'll probably encounter once you get there.
But it'll probably save a lot of grief.
