What's missing from this week's Economist cover?
Microsoft! Ouch.
This is just the latest slap in the face for Microsoft, which despite its best effort to crack search with Bing and the tablet market with the Surface, is not seen as a major player in tech or the Internet.
This isn't the first time Microsoft was dissed like this. In October, Google chairman Eric Schmidt said Microsoft wasn't really a player any more because, "They’re a well-run company, but they haven’t been able to bring state-of-the-art products into the fields we’re talking about."
